Representatives of JSC KTK learned about the equipment and components market at the largest industry exhibition in Novokuznetsk
Managers and engineers from JSC Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company participated in the 34th International Specialized Exhibition of Mining Technologies "Coal and Mining of Russia," which is being held in Novokuznetsk.
For decades, this large-scale public event in the mining industry has helped companies find new business partners, exchange experiences in the application of new technological developments, and discuss issues relevant to coal mining.
"We view the exhibition as a platform for making decisions on optimizing production by implementing new equipment presented at the exhibition. During our working visits, we speak with both official representatives of manufacturing companies and distributors of foreign industrial companies. Our goal is to maintain existing business relationships by discussing the details of existing agreements, as well as to acquire new partners and suppliers. Visiting and exploring the exhibition provides impetus for development and food for thought for the entire year, until the next exhibition," explains Evgeny Dmitriev, Managing Director and Director of the Vinogradovsky Open-Pit Mine, a branch of JSC KTK.
"At the exhibition, we not only select optimal technological solutions but also help manufacturers improve product quality by providing detailed feedback on their operational experience at our facilities. We also share with suppliers the design vulnerabilities we've discovered during real-world production. We inform suppliers about design vulnerabilities discovered during real-world production. Some suppliers provide test samples of components. During the established trial period, we evaluate the product's performance and production potential, ultimately either returning the test sample to the supplier or drawing up a commercial contract for its purchase. We will also learn about the possibility of this operating mode during discussions with manufacturers and sales representatives," says Dmitry Serg, Deputy Director for Equipment Repair and Operation at JSC KTK.
Experts note that the current structure of the Russian mining equipment and components market has changed significantly. Currently, the exhibition features significantly more new products from Chinese companies. This necessitates taking risks when selecting products based on stated specifications. More than half of the components and consumables selected based on their characteristics do not deliver the expected results in practice. However, the price range of the products presented at the exhibition allows for optimization of repair and maintenance costs.
At last year's exhibition, a solution was found for the "Lean Manufacturing" project of the freight forwarding company "Meret." The products on display featured optimal equipment for automatic lubrication of wheel sets, reducing wear on both the sets themselves and the rails during freight transportation. Consequently, extending the service life of wheel sets minimizes replacement and repair costs.
As part of the re-engineering project, an engine from the Chinese company Weichai will be purchased and installed on a Komatsu PC1250 excavator. The engine is priced significantly lower than the original factory engine, which preliminarily yields significant savings.
Projects such as these ensure the company's sustainability during challenging market conditions in the industry.
