On 06 October at MINEX Russia 2016 Forum PAO Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company became a winner of the Russian Mining Excellence Award in the nomination of Sustainable development project.
The Company received the award for creating Karakansky Natural Reserve on its premises. KTK is the first company in Russian coal industry to put in practice creation of specially protected area within the land allotments being a part of its two coal mining enterprises in an attempt to find an optimal method of restoration of the used production areas. The company has been financing the natural reserve and the related research for several years.

PAO Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company (КТК, MICEX: KBTK) is one of the largest producers and exporters of thermal coal in Russia. Operational assets of the Company include four operating and one designed section at the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine in Kemerovo region as well as two washing plants and own railway infrastructure located in single production cluster with the mineral mining enterprises. The Company is an operator of retail networks in 4 regions of Western Siberia and in Poland. The Company employs 4 400 employees.
