Kuzbass Fuel Company received comprehensive environmental permits for all production facilities

JSC Kuzbass Fuel Company received comprehensive environmental permits (IEP) for all production facilities. These permits establish acceptable levels of environmental load within the framework of the requirements of environmental legislation and, starting from 2025, are mandatory and extremely important operational documents for production facilities.

The absence of environmental control measures at a coal mine is a risk factor for executive authorities (Rosprirodnadzor), which are authorized to carry out additional control and supervisory measures to assess compliance with environmental standards at coal mining enterprises.
To obtain permits, the company’s environmental service and design organizations carried out extensive work. For each specific facility receiving IEP, specialized multi-page calculations, analytical justifications were carried out, and a set of design and regulatory documentation was drawn up, including the development of industrial environmental control (IEC) programs.
In addition to Rosprirodnadzor, design materials and documentation undergo a number of examinations, including sanitary and epidemiological examinations through Rospotrebnadzor, as well as approvals from such departments as: the Ministry of Economic Development, Rosvodresursy, territorial Directorates for the protection, control and regulation of the use of wildlife objects.

“Our company takes a responsible approach to environmental safety issues and applies a set of measures to help minimize the harmful impact on the environment.
For example, during mining operations, dust suppression is used to reduce the mass of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere. To reduce emissions from boiler houses of the enterprise and enrichment plants, gas purification plants are used. The operating efficiency of these installations ensures the purification of emitted gases to the maximum permissible values.
Waste generated during production and economic activities is transferred to licensed organizations engaged in waste management activities for neutralization (used automobile filters) or disposal (used oil, scrap metal, used automobile tires).
he enterprise constantly monitors the qualitative composition of emissions from sources of air pollution and discharged quarry and wastewater into water bodies; control over the level of noise exposure and air and soil pollution at the border of the sanitary protection zone.
According to long-term observations and instrumental measurements, no excess levels of pollutants were detected at the border of the sanitary protection zone of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine,” says Natalya Kuzmina, chief technologist of CPC JSC.
