Kuzbass Fuel Company has proven compliance with high safety criteria
At the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine of the Kuzbass Fuel Company, comprehensive exercises were held in order to confirm readiness for actions to localize and eliminate fuel spills.
According to the scenario, which embodied one of the negative possible scenarios for the occurrence of an event, the exercises involved practicing actions in the event of an emergency spill of diesel fuel as a result of the destruction of the ground tank RVS-1000 № 4.
The event was conducted by the fire and rescue squad of the Kuzbass Ministry of Emergency Situations and the largest Russian company in the field of emergency rescue operations “ECOSPAS” (emergency rescue operations center) with a detailed analysis and assessment of the actions of all categories of trainees.
During the exercises, knowledge of legislative and regulatory acts was developed, the actions of management, facility personnel and emergency rescue personnel in localization and liquidation, collection and disposal of spilled fuel, evacuation of personnel and provision of medical assistance were studied in detail. Complete liquidation of the emergency situation took one hour.
– Based on the results of the preventive exercise, the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kemerovo Region confirmed the high level of readiness of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine. Among the strengths, they noted the well-coordinated work of the petroleum products warehouse team. The successful conduct of exercises on the territory of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine for the next three years confirmed the readiness to eliminate and localize emergency situations at the fuel and lubricants warehouse, – commented Alexey Zelenin, deputy technical director for labor protection and industrial safety of Kuzbass Fuel Company.
