In the Kemerovo region, on the territory of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine, a festival of mining art and an interregional competition of professional skills “Best in Profession” were held among enterprises of the federal holding “Russian Coal” and Kuzbass Fuel Company. Several hundred people attended the event, and the main participants were miners from Kuzbass, the Amur and Novosibirsk regions, Khakassia and the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
A large-scale exhibition was organized for the guests of the event, including modern types of mining, transport and auxiliary equipment, where everyone could literally “try on” the profession of a driver of a multi-ton BelAZ or a loader, a bulldozer operator or a mine rescuer.
Students from specialized educational institutions in the Kemerovo region were also able to jump into a “career” at the mining festival. The organizers gave them a special excursion and told them about key vacancies and working conditions.
The fact that coal mining is an art has been proven in practice by the best employees of the coal mining enterprises of the federal holding Russian Coal and Kuzbass Fuel Company. As part of the competition stage, they demonstrated to festival guests seemingly impossible skills in controlling multi-ton equipment. The competition was held in 13 nominations among 70 participants.
For example, spectators watched with fascination as drivers of hydraulic excavators used buckets to remove helmets from their racks and open bottles of drinks. And the drivers of four models of BelAZ cars showed that driving, especially such large vehicles, is also an art that not everyone can master - even among professionals there are those who do it better.
A real exhibition of paintings for festival guests was organized by participants in the “Best Electric Gas Welder” nomination. According to the assignment, they had to use blanks to fuse a drawing based on a prepared sketch, which depicted a BelAZ car. Despite the common initial conditions, the painting of each competitor turned out to be original, with the original style of each welding artist.
One of the most spectacular events of the mining festival was a large-scale techno show with the participation of more than 15 pieces of mining equipment. Guests of the event saw the ballet of mining equipment for the first time. To the sounds of classical music, artists – workers of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine of the Kuzbass Fuel Company – showed that every true professional can turn his business into art, following 5 truths: “Loyalty to the cause; Love for the profession; Decisiveness of action; The continuity of generations; There is strength in unity." These truths help coal miners achieve success in the profession, and enterprises maintain leadership positions in the industry.
Let us note that Russian Coal has been holding a professional skills competition “Best in Profession” since 2018, for the second year in a row – in the Kemerovo region at the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine of the Kuzbass Fuel Company. This year the competition celebrated its 5th anniversary, and the large-scale festival of mining art became a gift for all participants and guests of the event.
