A spectacular event took place at the sports complex in the village of Sidorenkovo, in the Belovsky Municipal District.
Traditionally, the competition program featured four disciplines: soccer, volleyball, an individual kettlebell lifting event, and tug-of-war. The competition was fierce; the intensity of emotion on the volleyball and soccer courts fueled a hard-fought battle during every single play.
The rivalry proved to be intense: the high level of emotion on the volleyball and football courts fueled a fierce battle during every rally.
In football, the team from the Meret Transport and Forwarding Company once again emerged victorious, just as they did last year. Athletes representing the Mining Department of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine took second place, while the Mining and Transport Department team from the same mine secured third place.
The volleyball matches ended with a victory for the Mining Department; the Processing Department team took second place, and employees of the open-pit mine’s Power and Mechanical Department finished third.
Vyacheslav Zima, representing the Mining and Transport Department, won the individual 24-kilogram kettlebell lifting event, completing 70 lifts. Andrei Goncharevsky from the JSC Kaskad-Energo team took second place with 55 lifts. Sergei Tsirkunov, also from the Mining and Transport Department team, secured third place with 50 lifts.
In the tug-of-war, the Mining and Transport Department team emerged victorious; the powerhouses from the Energy and Mechanical Department took second place, while specialists from the Mining Section rounded out the top three.
It is worth noting that the "Mining Department" team members competed in five consecutive team events without a break and immediately proceeded to the tug-of-war final, securing a well-deserved podium finish. Based on the overall results of all the challenges, this team claimed the rotating trophy for the second year in a row.
The winners and top finishers received trophies, certificates of achievement, and cash prizes.
Colleagues, family, and friends came to cheer on the "coal miners." During breaks between bouts, participants and guests could enjoy hearty pastries and hot drinks.
We are upholding healthy corporate traditions that foster a sporting spirit within the mining community. Sport helps channel negative emotions constructively and strengthens both body and character. Therefore, all the competition participants can confidently be called the vanguard of our workforce. It was particularly delightful this time to watch the cheering squads, who not only motivated their loved ones and colleagues to win but also added a festive atmosphere to the event. Next year, we should definitely introduce a special award category for the best cheering squad," noted Evgeny Dmitriev, Managing Director and Director of the Vinogradovsky Open-Pit Mine (a branch of JSC KTK), during the awards ceremony.
