At the Vinogradovsky open pit, a branch of JSC Kuzbass Fuel Company, a training session was held to provide assistance to miners in an extreme situation

Members of the auxiliary mine rescue team (AMRT), the volunteer fire brigade (VFB) and the staff of the paramedic health center of the Vinogradovsky open pit mine practiced actions to provide assistance to a miner injured in an accident.

According to the legend, on the territory of the Heavy-Duty Trucks Prevention Center, smoke appeared in a BelAZ 75131 vehicle being serviced, and an employee who was in the office lost consciousness. The incident was immediately reported to the mine dispatcher, who took all necessary steps to notify officials and emergency response services at the facility.

During the elimination of the consequences of the simulated incident, members of the emergency rescue units not only repeated the actions to eliminate the consequences of a fire in special mining equipment, but also worked out the sequence and methods of evacuating an injured driver.

"This time we paid special attention to the options for evacuating an injured worker from the driver's cabin using a soft stretcher. It is this rescue tool that allows for a more mobile and maneuverable descent and delivery of the injured person from giant vehicles to the paramedic service vehicle for further transfer to a medical facility. Also, during the training, medical specialists provided additional detailed instructions to miners on the basics of providing first aid to victims before the arrival of specialized services,” says Vyacheslav Deryabin, Head of the Department for Mobilization Work, Civil Defense and Emergencies at JSC KTK.

It is planned to conduct similar training events with emergency rescue units systematically throughout the year to develop sustainable practical skills in rescue, evacuation and providing first aid to injured colleagues.
