At the fuel and lubricants warehouse of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine, a branch of Kuzbass Fuel Company JSC (KTK JSC), a fire training was held aimed at training members of the voluntary fire brigade (VFD), testing the knowledge and skills of personnel in responding to a fire.
According to the plan of the exercise, the fire originated in the premises of the pumping station of the fuel and lubricants warehouse and began to spread rapidly. The facility’s employees immediately began to carry out all actions provided for in such a case: they stopped the pumps, turned off the electricity in the building, they informed the control room and the managers of the mine about what had happened, ensured the evacuation of people to fresh air, and also used primary fire extinguishing means - fire extinguishers, to eliminate the fire on their own.
Members of the voluntary fire brigade, armed with a tanker truck, who arrived at the scene, together with the warehouse fire department unit, worked out the actions of deploying hose lines and feeding the barrel to extinguish the conditional source of fire. As part of the event, Evgeny Bukin, an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia - chief of the guard of fire and rescue unit No. 5 of the Belovsky fire and rescue garrison, conducted an instructive practical lesson for volunteers according to the rules for using a motor pump when laying a fire extinguishing line from open water sources or from fire hydrants.
“We conducted unscheduled training to develop the staff’s ability to independently, quickly and accurately navigate the situation in the event of an emergency or fire, and take the right measures to localize and eliminate open burning with your own resources and resources. The training also made it possible to test the coordination of all company officials and emergency response services, and the time of arrival of special equipment to the scene of a simulated incident.
The ranks of our volunteer firefighters have been updated, and DPD volunteers from among the workers at the fuel and lubricants warehouse have been trained. Therefore, the fire-fighting training event became a kind of initiation ritual into the intricacies of the new mission of the mine employees - DPD volunteers,” - noted Vyacheslav Deryabin, Head of the Department for Mobilization Work, Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of CPC JSC
Let us remind you that on the basis of the economic convoy of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine, a voluntary fire brigade was created in June 2023, armed with a tanker truck converted for fire extinguishing needs. The volunteer vehicle contains primary fire extinguishing equipment, personal respiratory protection equipment, entrenching equipment and other equipment necessary to localize open burning and contain the spread of fire until the arrival of the main fire extinguishing forces. Volunteers’ tasks also include promoting fire safety culture and providing first-aid to people injured in fires and emergency situations.
Volunteers of the Razrez DPD constantly take part in exercises and training to eliminate fires and accidents at serviced facilities. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the fire extinguishing service 3 PSO FPS State Fire Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass are invited to train volunteers.
