From January to June 2023, 6.0 million tons of D-grade thermal coal were produced at the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine of Kuzbass Fuel Company. This is 18%, or 900 thousand tons, higher than the production volume for the 1st half of 2022, which amounted to 5.1 million tons of fuel.
Over the 6 months of 2023, Kuzbass Fuel Company increased the volume of raw coal processing by 25%, or 1 million tons. In the first half of 2023, it amounted to 5 million tons of fuel, while in the same period in 2022 – 4 million tons. The raw coal mined at the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine is processed at two processing plants – “Kaskad” and “Kaskad-2”, as well as at a sorting complex.
In the 1st half of 2023, the products of Kuzbass Fuel Company were supplied to the needs of the large energy sector, government agencies, retail consumers and the housing and communal services sector, as well as for export.
The Kuzbass Fuel Company includes the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine, two enrichment plants, its own railway infrastructure, as well as a retail network of sales companies in 4 regions of Western Siberia. The Vinogradovsky open-pit mine mines the reserves of the Karakan coal deposit and consists of 4 mountain sections. The annual production capacity of the enterprise is about 15 million tons of coal, and fuel reserves exceed 500 million tons.
