More than 20 children saw with their own eyes where and how their parents work, learned first-hand how energy coal is mined in an open-pit manner, and sat in the driver's cabins of huge special equipment.
Traditionally, the event opened with a detailed safety briefing, since being on the territory of the open-pit mine requires increased vigilance, compliance with the rules of movement in the industrial zone and diligent wearing of personal protective equipment. By the way, the guys received helmets and high-visibility vests as a keepsake.
The children were also shown a short video with general information about coal mining methods and special mining equipment. After thorough preparation and broadening their horizons in the field of coal mining, the children were taken to the control room of the coal mine, where they were told how the round-the-clock control of the process of coal mining, production and shipment is arranged.
The next point of the excursion was the inspection of equipment at the mountain site. Since the excursion event coincided with the next day of the competition for the title of "Best in the Profession", the children were taken to a special viewing platform of the open pit where the skills of loader and BelAZ drivers, as well as hydraulic excavator operators, were tested.
Some of the kids were able to cheer for their dads, who took part in the competitions.
According to the competition conditions, all actions were performed by professional miners against the clock. Komatsu PS-400 excavator operators loaded coal into BelAZ. Loader drivers covered the "snake" distance in forward and reverse motion, played miners' "basketball" - they removed a bar with a ball from special stands, threw the ball into the ring without dropping the bar. BelAZ drivers competed in overcoming a complex distance with roundabouts, a high-speed section and a serpentine.
"The huge territory processed by powerful machines is very impressive. This is how I imagined it all, but seeing it with my own eyes is a completely different matter. This is a memorable day," shared his impressions Yaroslav, son of the head of the capital construction directorate of JSC "KTK" Alexey Bekrenev.
"Dad told me at home that at work he drives a big machine all day, but it was hard to imagine such a huge one. I like watching how such equipment works. And my sister, mom and I came to cheer for dad, so I hope he wins," says Danil, the son of excavator operator Yuri Sedelnikov.
An exhibition of special equipment was organized especially for children. The children were able to sit and take photos in the driver's cabins of a loader, a BelAZ, a fire engine, and a shift bus.
After watching the competition program, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the company's founding, and also as a symbol of lightness and hope, adults and children launched kites with the Kuzbass Fuel Company symbols on the observation deck.
At the end of the meeting, the guys were fed lunch in the miners' canteen and given souvenirs with the company's symbols.
