On the eve of Russian Fire Protection Day, specialists from Kuzbass Fuel Company JSC handed over backpack fire extinguishers for use in their work by the fighters of the Belovo fire and rescue garrison.
In connection with the start of a special fire-fighting period in the Kuzbass region and an increase in the risk of fires in the natural environment, Kuzbass Fuel Company JSC transferred 2 backpack fire extinguishers from its arsenal for arming the units of the 3rd fire and rescue squad of the Federal Fire Service of the State Fire Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kemerovo Region - Kuzbass.
“Traditionally, spring grass fires cause a lot of concern for professional firefighters. Since the volunteer fire brigade of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine is fully equipped with the necessary fire extinguishing equipment, we decided to share spare backpack fire extinguishers with fire rescuers. The territory of their departure is extensive and extends, among other things, to the open-pit mine, so in this way we are strengthening the capabilities of the fire departments to protect the territories adjacent to our production facilities,” noted Vyacheslav Deryabin, Head of the Department for Mobilization Work, Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of CPC JSC
It is worth noting that with the beginning of spring, as well as in order to prevent landscape fires around the territory of the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine, the company’s specialists carried out plowing using special equipment - a LIEBHERR front-end loader. The length of protective firebreaks created to prevent the spread of fire across the surface of the earth in conditions of ground fire was about 6 kilometers.
Let us remind you that a voluntary fire brigade has been created and is functioning at the mine, armed with a tanker truck converted for firefighting needs. In addition to promptly responding to fires in the mine area, the volunteers’ tasks include promoting a fire safety culture and providing first-aid care to people injured in fires and emergency situations. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the fire extinguishing service 3 PSO FPS State Fire Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass are invited to train volunteers.
