A quarter of a century 25 years ago, on April 4, the state unitary enterprise "Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Kompaniya" ("KTK") was officially registered. From that moment on, the history of the company's brand begins, which for many years has been one of the significant producers of thermal coal in Russia.
For the first year and a half, the company essentially carried out trading activities and did not perform coal mining functions.
At the end of 2001, as a result of privatization and reorganization due to the infusion of private investments, the company acquired the status of a joint-stock company. And in December 2003, a license was received to conduct mining operations at the Vinogradovsky site.
In 2004, the first 400 thousand tons of coal were mined at the new Vinogradovsky open-pit mine. In 2006, the KeNoTEK company with the operating Karakansky-Yuzhny open-pit mine became part of KTK.
Gradually, the KTK group expanded fully, adding enrichment plants (Cascade and Cascade-2, which produced 40 million tons of commercial products – high-calorie coal concentrate – over 11 years), and various sales companies in the Kemerovo, Omsk and Novosibirsk regions, the Altai Territory, as well as the thermal power plant of the city of Anzhero-Sudzhensk, OJSC Kaskad-Energo, and the transport and forwarding company Meret.
In 2023, the Vinogradovsky open pit mined the jubilee 180 millionth ton of coal since the enterprise was put into operation. Today, the open pit fleet includes 130 units of mining and transport equipment.Production processes are organized in accordance with strict standards in the areas of ecology, labor protection, industrial safety, personnel management and corporate governance.
The JSC KTK group employs more than 2,000 people, most of whom (about 1,700) are engaged in coal mining at the Vinogradovsky open pit. Among the workers of the open pit there are many hereditary miners, representatives of labor dynasties, full cavaliers of the Miner's Glory badge, holders of regional and departmental awards, winners of interregional competitions of professional skills.
Thanks to everyone involved in the development of the company for many years of highly professional work!
We wish you success in all your endeavors and positive changes in the country's coal mining industry.
Let the past quarter of a century be the first chapter in the rich history of a successful enterprise!
