At the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine a new unique repair bay has been commissioned for heavy-load trucks, total cost of which is RUR 200 mln

At the Vinogradovsky open-pit mine (OJSC “Kuzbasskaya Toplivnaya Company”) a new unique repair bay has been commissioned for heavy-load trucks, total cost of which is RUR 200 mln.

The bay will be used for maintenance services, diagnostic operations and performing current and scheduled repairs of mine dump trucks. The size of the construction is 100 х 36 meters, height – 16 meters.

Innovative technologies were used in construction of the building. A steel carcass of the building was designed and constructed in accordance with high technology, which resulted in effective materials consumption and load distribution on columns and foundation.

Bay area for maintenance services is equipped with overhead travelling crane with capacity of 32 tonnes and with a transporting distance of 34.5 meters.

In addition, the object peculiarity is that there is maximum comfortable environment for workers.

There are accommodation spaces for personnel in the bay, equipped with all the necessary modern facilities: men’s change room contains 148 places, women’s change room - 70 places, showers and rest rooms. Overall size of accommodation spaces is 680 square meters.

Commenting on the new repair bay, Igor Prokudin, CEO of KTK said: “Commissioning of the bay will let us perform all kinds of repairs of heavy-load trucks with high quality and at short notice, it will reduce trucks downtime and it will also make comfortable working conditions for employees”.
